I believe that snacking may work wonders for some people, but I personally am a textbook “Aries”. Meaning: I love “excitement”, “adrenaline”, “competition”, etc. Snacking turns into a “[insert snack here] eating contest”. It becomes the food, versus my stomach…Funny thing is, when its “you versus you” during an eating contest, your waistline always beats you. Yes, enter “5 extra pounds”…I guess I could consider that fat/water weight as my “you win” trophy, but I rather just cut out the snacks lol.
So, what was my old way of handling the after dinner “snack attack”? Tea, coffee, water, and sugar-free gum. I felt as if I was being too extreme after reading Bethany’s book. I really believed I could snack on soy sausages and limitless whole wheat bread, but turns out I can’t. Still, her book acknowledges that even some naturally thin people can’t have chocolate/other foods in their house. So, it could be worse. I can have snacks in my house, I just choose not to snack on them until the weekend. Even then, I won’t turn into the cookie monster out of deprivation. Because, its not that I “can’t” snack, its that I choose not to snack.
So, this was my little update for everyone
